Development of the [M]AGI ([M] Adaptive Game Intelligence) has commenced. The goal is to build a general, adaptive intelligence for [M] games.
[M]AGI will adapt to its human competitor’s skill level, getting smarter when the player wins, and likewise reducing its strength when the player loses.
Generalization is also necessary because of the variety of game modes that naturally extend out of the core ruleset—in the strictest definition, [M] is a set of games. Modes such as Edge Connectionfundamentally change the game by removing a static, center region, without technically adding rules—Edge Connection is a condition under which the gameboard is understood to be a globe. [M]AGI must adapt to multiple conditions and game modes.
